About Portland Deck Pros: Who We Are and How Quotes Work
A plain explanation of who runs this site, what happens to a request, and what we do not do.
Last updated
Portland Deck Pros exists for one kind of homeowner: someone in the Portland area with a deck project who wants a quote without phoning around. It covers new decks, deck repair and replacement, composite decks and covered decks across the Oregon side of the metro, and it publishes guides on what those jobs involve, what they cost and when they need a permit.
When you send a request, it goes to one independent deck contractor who works in your area, and they contact you to price the job. The quote is free, and whether you hire anyone is up to you. Contractors may pay H. Mae LLC for the requests they receive; that is how the site is paid for, and it is never charged to you. Before you do, check the contractor’s license on the Oregon Construction Contractors Board’s license search: Oregon law requires anyone who bids on construction work for pay to hold a current CCB license. Our Portland deck builders page explains what the record shows.
Everything we publish about codes, permits and prices names its source and the date it was checked. Where we have not been able to confirm something, we leave it out.

What this site does
Portland Deck Pros connects Portland-area homeowners with local deck contractors for new decks, repairs, composite and covered decks.

How a request works
- Describe the project. Answer a few questions about the deck: a new one, a repair or replacement, composite boards or a cover.
- A local contractor follows up. Your request goes to one independent deck contractor who works in your area, and they contact you about the job.
- Get your free quote. The contractor quotes the work for free. Whether you hire them is entirely up to you.
The full detail is on how it works.
What this site does not do
- It is not a contractor, and it does not perform deck services work itself.
- It does not set prices or give quotes. The contractor who takes on the job does that, after discussing it with you.
- It does not supervise, guarantee or take responsibility for work a contractor carries out.
- It does not send your request to more than one contractor, or to anyone else who is not quoting the job. The contractor who receives it may pay H. Mae LLC for it.
- It does not publish reviews, ratings, credentials or any other claim it cannot verify.

Common questions
Who will contact me after I send a request?
One independent deck contractor who works in your area. Your request goes to a single contractor, not to a list of companies, and that contractor contacts you about the job and gives you a free quote.
Is Portland Deck Pros a contractor?
No. Portland Deck Pros is operated by H. Mae LLC, which does no construction work. The contractor who quotes your deck sets the price and is responsible for the work.
